New Hope-Solebury Comments

New Hope battled for a five-set victory on the road against Radnor on Friday. The short-handed Lions endured a one-hour bus ride following a week that included four matches in five days. Still, the Lions would not be denied. New Hope dropped the first two sets then roared back in the next 3 through the surgeon like setting of Vogelsang. The junior setter carved up the Radnor defense by spreading the ball around to every hitter. New Hope’s balanced attack included 12 Kills by McMahon, 6 Kills by Costello, 2 Kills by Chuma and Sommerfeldt and 1 Kill from Duessing. Vogelsang added 7 Kills of her own to the tally for New Hope. The blocking from New Hope was impenetrable. Costello, Chuma, Vogelsang and Sommerfeldt shut down the attack from Radnor with a combined 16 stuff blocks on the night. Patrolling the back row on defense was Roczicki who scooped up 20 digs. Costello added to the dig total by scooping 12 of her own.

New Hope improves to 6-0 on the season. Radnor drops to 1-5.
Next up for the Lions is a road match at William Tennent on Monday.
